How I Managed To Get Rid Of My Extreme Back Spasms In The Morning

Backache is experienced by many individuals and I can personally tell that it hurts a lot most especially if it reaches almost all areas of your back. The back spasm symptoms that you may feel at some time can really feel terrible to the point that you cannot even get up from your bed. In some instances, terrible muscle spasms in back can be debilitating that you cannot even go to work. I have experienced all these things and although back pain may seem like a non-fatal disorder, it is imperative that you take care of the symptoms and determine the cause of back spasms before it is too late.

Waking Up With an Aching Back

Waking up with back spasms can be the worst thing that you can experience in your life. I can tell it myself because the abrupt and intense pain that you will experience when you are having muscle spasms in back can be excruciating. The worst thing is that it can linger for minutes and may fade very slowly giving you more suffering.

Sudden localized cramps are one of the most common back spasm symptoms that I am experiencing in the morning as a wake up or at any time of the day like when I am doing chores, as I go to work or before I go to sleep.

At times, the muscle contractions may remain for days because of the back spasms, causing more agony on my part. I remember asking, why am I experiencing such pains? This is why I had it checked to see what the cause of back spasms is that is troubling me for quite some time.

Seeking Medical Attention

I have realized that I should not let back spasm symptoms disturb me for long so I sought medical assistance. This can be most helpful since you will never know whether what you are experiencing is just a plain back ache or a result of a more serious medical condition. Some cases of back spasms may be associated with simple causes that can be remedied easily like accumulated gas, strained muscles or dehydration.

However, in my case, I was shocked to learn that I have slipped discs or the dislocation of the disc that serves as the cushion for the spinal bones. This is a serious medical condition that requires abrupt treatment in order to eradicate the chronic back spasm symptoms that can be too debilitating.

I have found out from my doctor that the reason why I am feeling tremendous pain is because my nerves are trapped due to the bulging of the spinal discs. This condition has caused me extreme pain and discomfort which may have gotten more complicated if I had not sought medical attention.

Dealing with the Treatment

My condition that may have been a result of my profession that involves prolonged sitting and at times lifting heavy objects is treated successfully with the combination of treatments prescribed by my doctor to eliminate the back spasm symptoms.

I had to take anti-inflammatory medications such as NSAIDs or Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs to decrease the inflammation of my slipped discs. But then, I felt gastric irritation later on so my doctor prescribed oral corticosteroids instead. I responded well with corticosteroids but these were just the initial treatments that I have undergone.

My slipped disc condition was so severe that I had to undergo spinal decompression which is a surgery conducted to release the pressure in the spine cavity. Accompanied with sessions of physical therapy as well as mineral supplementation and a healthy diet, I was able to overcome the disorder and get rid of back spasm symptoms.

Now, I can function effectively without experiencing unbearable back spasms. I hope that this serves as a lesson to those who are experiencing the same symptoms. Have it checked before it’s too late.
